Guest Speaker: Syed Imran Ali, PhD

Humanitarian Response and Innovation

Imran Ali has been working with refugees and displaced people as an aid worker
and humanitarian health researcher for some time, as well as years of university-level teaching and supervisory experience. Most recently, through a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley, he led a collaborative research effort with MSF and UNHCR to develop the first evidence-based guidance for safe water supply in refugee/IDP camps. As a Lecturer at Berkeley, he designed and delivered two undergraduate courses in the highly regarded Global Poverty and Practice Minor Program on the Ethics, Pragmatics, and Methods of Global Practice and Safe Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Emergencies.
